Review on Ohaus SPX123 Portable Balance with 0.001G Precision by John Mejia

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Ideal reloading scale

Traditionally I have used scales to weigh the individual charges of a sniper rifle. It's a little unwieldy and required a lot of fumbling, lighting adjustments, and eye strain on my bench to charge it. I recently decided to try a quality digital scale. The reviews for this weight were good and the ergonomics looked good, so I bought one. Tested on my beam scale, Ohaus was great. This is obviously MUCH easier to use. It's easy to pour the powder into the pan. Reading the results is SUPER easy, way better than beam scales. I did a few "tests," including five samples of balls of different weights, which I weighed on a beam balance and then on an Ohaus when I first set it up. I wrote down the weights for the first time and weigh the same five balls every time I adjust to the powder. Ohaus was always on top. It also comes with a calibration weight. I have nothing to compare, this is the only digital scale I have used to reload. It's not very sensitive to wind, although it does measure your breath from about a foot away, or even with quick hand movements. It's small and neat so I can pack it up and store it away when I'm not using it so it doesn't sit around on my bench or get damaged. The packaging it came in is the perfect storage box. For my purposes, this scale was an economical and practical choice.
