I bought these to directly replace the original plastic wheels on two mobile computer racks. They roll very smoothly on our wooden floors without scratching the surface. For reference, the rods have an M8 1.25mm metric thread. NOTE: The hexes used to tighten the rods come very close to the surface of what they will be screwed into. So if you don't already have one, you can order it with a very thin wrench to tighten it (see ordering options). An ordinary open-end wrench does not fit in the space.
