It came in a plastic zip bag and not in a box or bag... To be honest it's cheaper to buy a 'no name' or 'brand' water filter, but not sure if they are using the proper handling of filters. We have a Breville Barristo that we typically make a few espressos out of every day and certainly don't rely on unnamed filtered water for our drinks going through our guts! Also, compared to the resin filter sold by Breville, it is a carbon filter. We use filtered water, so we don't need charcoal to filter the water. A tar filter is probably better for descaling. Returned the water filter and bought a pack of polymer filters from a local store. It is also noticeable that most of the 4-5 star reviews are related to the cheapness of the product. Don't buy such a water filter if you are worried about your health and the health of your family!
