When I bought this I wasn't sure I would like it as I had never owned a salt lamp before. but i love it It's very pretty, on or off, and so unique. The light is bright enough for pleasant nighttime lighting in our hall bathroom. I like being able to turn it on and off manually. Thanks very much! Since many lights now have a sunrise to sunset function and I don't like them, it's like having a shaded room without much natural light, the night light is always on. That way I can control it when I want to turn it on or off. It uses a standard night light bulb and you screw in the bulb and then the external salt lamp simply slides/twists over the bulb and onto the plastic part of the night light. It's been a few months now and I just had to change the lightbulb - very easy. Immediately unscrewed the salt lamp, replaced the light bulb and screwed it back in/screwed on. Very happy with my purchase!
