The package arrived on time and was the color and size I ordered. The frame itself is metal and the "fasteners" are plastic. I see no issues with this setup as it is easy to assemble and put away for storage. I don't plan on using it as a porter for my 70 lb lab, but she happily goes in if I need to be taken to a van or some other "unprotected" location. She's usually very squeamish about being manipulated by something, but I guess since all parts of the box are transparent, she doesn't mind at all. The Thinsulate lining is pretty good. It's not very soft, so if your dog is used to thicker bedding, another layer can easily fit in this box. I even have a giant round dog bed I bought from Costco that fits, although it goes a little higher on the sides the box can handle it. Overall I consider this a quality product. I'm glad I bought it, even if I don't need to use it all the time, it's something nice to have for road trips, traveling and packing.
