I've been using a hario hand grinder for my aeropress for many years. It was adequate. When I decided to plunge into espresso, I got this. I knew it would be more precise and able to do finer grinds, and it does perfectly dial in espresso. I didn't expect that it would be so much easier and faster to grind! It's maybe 20 seconds to grind what I need, and very easy. Unless you are making more than 5 coffees per day I honestly have no idea why anyone would buy an electric grinder. It's so easy, quiet, and fast, and it takes much less space. Plus it works anywhere, no matter the voltage (or lack thereof). Now I use it for both aeropress and espresso. I also was unsure how hard it would be to change between, but if you just remember the fineness setting you want for each, it's very easy to switch (you just need to remember to check!).
