I thought my system was pretty good before I added this little gem. Using a very high quality 60WPC stereo amp on some bookshelf speakers I was happy with my setup, but figured for less than $50 I could try and see if adding "tube sound" to the system could improve the soundstage . I was blown away by how much extra clarity and power this little preamp added. I've done several AB comparisons and there's just no comparison; This Fosi P1 tube buffer definitely improves the sound quality, clarity, dynamics and sound stage significantly. All for $45. It's invincible. I bought a couple of GE 5654 bulbs because of the good reviews but to be honest I don't feel the need to change the stock bulbs at all. Like I said, it's funny. Just buy without fear. Guaranteed to shock you. If there's ONE downside, it's that there's a small "knock" sound when the device is turned on. I'm not sure how to prevent this, but it's a bit annoying. I can't even deduct a star for that, it works really well.
