This headset does not understand low volume. I usually keep it at 1 (out of 100) - that's managed in Windows because there's no volume control on the headset itself - because that's the lowest it can be without a mute. And even at this lowest possible volume, it's still far too loud. Not too inconvenient or I would have sent it back, but bad enough that people I speak to complain about hearing echoes. and tin. If I turn it up to around 5, the sound quality improves significantly. So if you're looking for a headset with plenty of volume and good sound quality, this might be for you. Last comment, the cable is on the short side for my use. I usually like to plug something into the back of my desktop and route the cable underneath through the keyboard tray so the cables don't get in the way. I can do it with this headset too, but with difficulty. However, I don't have much freedom of movement and sometimes I even have to bend down a bit. This is probably not the most common situation, and a short USB-A extension cable won't fix anything, and unless you're a techie like me trying to run lots of cables everywhere, you can probably just plug it in up front with no problems.
