Review on 🐠 Advanced Smart-APP Controlled 165W Aquarium Light: Dimmable Full Spectrum LED Coral Reef Light for Saltwater and Freshwater Fish Tank Setup by Vanessa Knipp

I've had a reef aquarium for 15 years (and 10 years in the late 80's). I have tried 3 LED lights in the last 15 years. The last two were very expensive Kessil lights which I am very fond of. Kessil likes her so much they charge a fortune for it. My Kessil is behaving, so I need a reasonable replacement and I decided to give it a try. Since my very old Epex controller just died and I recently replaced it, I decided to use budget gear to try and control the money hole that my fish tank has become of late. The Onyx LED system allows you to dim the 10V supply - this worked great on my Apex. This cheap LED lamp has no external controls other than a power switch. I don't have any parameter but the light seems to be bright. However, the color palette is limited. It has three adjustable LEDs: daylight (blue), dawn (red) and moonlight (blue). You really can't get white or anything close to it. Also, the LEDs have a weird flickering in this configuration (especially if you're used to Kessils). The build quality is definitely cheap. This is the first plastic reef light I've owned. I'm curious how well this holds up. If you are on a very limited budget this could be a good choice. But the lighting doesn't have much color gamut (unless you like blue). Aquarium lighting may be acceptable. I've had good luck with Torch and Duncan Corals with my old lighting - they don't look as lively with this new lighting. Time will tell if the coral will accept this LED. This light does not inspire much confidence. I'll probably save up for another Kessil.
