I shopped online for several hours before making the very difficult decision of buying the Altec Lansing inMotion iM7. I have been an avid Bose fan for over 15 years but decided to try another brand which I have also used. The Bose Sound Dock didn't have the bass that most Bose products offer. I believe this is due to the lack of Acustimass (aka subwoofer) technology. Bose also lacked the volume that the iM7 offered. I looked closely at the Klipsch iGroove HG which would be my second choice. One of the strengths of the iM7 is the bass β limitless and deep. The highs and mids are also clean and crisp. I had no problems with the door. In fact, I feel like it protects the iPod better than most. This machine will wake the dead without distortion if you really want to. Excellent volume range. The cost is another nice side. It costs about $75 less than Klipsh and Bose systems on many sites. The only downside, if you can call it that, is its size. It's a bit larger than the other devices mentioned, but works great for my office use. My second choice would be iGroove if I didn't trust the reviews I read about the iM7. Good luck and happy shopping.
