Review on 🔌 Leviton 4998-W: Weather-Resistant 1-Gang Decora/GFCI Device Wallplate with Self Closing Lid, White by Brett Slater

I had another outside cover that literally died two GFCI sockets, one of which was high quality and weatherproof. In the spring I opened it up and saw pollen on all the cork liners and then I found out that water probably got in and killed them. I replaced it with this case and it seems to do a lot better at keeping moisture out. A third GFCI with a newer cap is still in service. I live in Rhode Island where it is very windy and humid and when it rains it goes sideways. This lid is just a cheap piece of plastic, but it's a well-designed piece of plastic. It works. The only downside is that every time I use the fork I'm afraid of breaking it. I don't use an outlet outside that often so it's ok.
