The product itself solves the original problem, but not the problem that caused the power supply to burn out. I don't know what's causing the problem, but I've read that these types of Dell computers are notorious for burning out PSUs. It must be a mainframe engineering problem. I'm not a computer hacker, but this can be frustrating. Until then I would suggest buying them 2 at a time so you have one on hand to replace without having to wait for one to be delivered. They WILL burn out about every 6 months to be sure!
