Review on ๐Ÿ”Š Enhance TV Audio with 1Mii B06TX Bluetooth 5.0 Transmitter: Wireless Headphone/Speaker Adapter with Volume Control, Multiple Audio Inputs, AptX Low Latency by Erica Johnson

Does what it's supposed to and makes it easy to understand

It's amazing how well it works when paired with the right headphones and/or speakers. First, and this is VERY important for TV use, you MUST use Bluetooth receiver hardware that supports the low latency APTX protocol or you'll end up with terrible lip sync. Just because you spent $400 on a fancy pair of Bose noise-cancelling headphones, don't assume they support APTX for Bluetooth connections (they don't). Second, for those using an optical connection with the 1Mii transmitter, please note that it only supports PCM audio. If your TV sends Dolby Digital to the 1Mii transmitter, your audio will sound like 20 Screech Owls. 1Mii is really wrong on this as I can't find any written documentation of their PCM only requirements for the optical link. I have a Samsung Smart TV and I've found that if the program I'm watching uses Dolby Digital, DTS, etc., it will send it over the optical output by default. This can be overridden in the so-called expert sound menu, but you may need to override it per input and per application. Finally, on my Samsung TV, the optical port can also be configured as an input, which you definitely don't need when interacting with the 1Mii transmitter. If it was well documented in the user manual they would have a lot less 1 and 2 star reviews and returns. Its digital encoding doesn't pick up amplifier hum and noise like an analog interface does. Another issue with the TV's 3.5mm analog source is the tendency for the 1Mii's transmitter input to be overloaded, as the jack on some TVs (e.g. TCL) is actually designed to connect unpowered wired headphones is. In other words, this is not a phono stage output intended for preamp-level input, which the 1Mii transmitter's 3.5mm input is optimized for. I am using 1Mii bluetooth 5.0 + APTX headphones with this bluetooth transmitter. I tried the cheaper transmitter BT 5.0 + APTX (cough, cough, ASIN: B01EHSX28M, cough). Well it's a joke! The low-latency Bluetooth worked until I needed to charge the headphones. At this point, the transmitter didn't see the clients, so it went into pairing mode and stayed there. When it tried to connect to anything and everything, it wouldn't let any of the headphones reconnect without re-pairing. There's no brain damage bullshit with this 1Mii transmitter. Pairing two Bluetooth client devices (e.g. headphones, speakers) with this transmitter is very easy. About 30 seconds after turning on the transmitter, it should be fully initialized. Press and hold the top left BT button until the LED ring flashes red and blue. Put your device (like my headphones) in pairing mode and bring it closer. You should connect immediately. Otherwise, you may need to restart the client device as it may already have been paired with something else. Repeat the process for the second device but use the rightmost BT button on the transmitter. The range test was impressive. I was able to walk about 50-60 feet from the transmitter before losing signal. But this test was not conducted in the open field. Between me with the headphones and the 1Mii transmitter in the back of the house were four walls, a washer/dryer stacked vertically, and my truck's windshield. Hope that helps!
