I'm a full-time graphic designer and for some reason my Mac's keyboard shakes a bit which is incredibly annoying when typing. This thin mat solved the problem and made typing quieter again. Its size offers enough space for the mouse on the side. It also looks cool and protects the surface of my new desk. Very low profile, causes no problems when wrists are resting on edge. I definitely recommend this rug! **EDIT** I am adding on the 4th day of use. One edge of the carpet is sooooo dirty on my white tabletop, maybe not good to protect your desktop from staining.
