Review on Altra AFW1923G Womens Kayenta Running Women's Shoes by Megan Gardner

I ordered a half size larger than usual judging by tons of reviews online. I opened the box this afternoon, put them on and they were a little tight and a little long. but I left her for the rest of the day and kept running. they were wonderful! My previous shoes were lace-ups, no cushioning. They're nice and soft but durable at the same time, so I didn't have an ankle roll or anything like that. They literally saved half a minute from our 5k run! We don't train at all and try to shorten a 5k run to 30 minutes. At mile 4, where I usually feel overwhelmed, I can feel the soles pushing me forward almost as usual! We're done at 29:56! I have normal feet, hate shoes, love Birkenstocks when I have to wear shoes. I would agree with others that this particular pair may not suit a wider foot. but it gives my normally wide feet plenty of room. Length I think is ok but I could get my normal size and it would be ok. the width seems a little too tight on the little finger when you put it on, but then it's not a problem. The insole is not flat, has a cup-shaped heel and a heel for the arch of the foot. I love it!
