Day one - Christmas - both pedals are separated on the outside but still work well. At the end of winter month 1 (so little time to travel) the bolt and washer on the pedal axle came loose. Booted up and drove off. End of winter month 2 - when driving, the bolt and washer are unscrewed, the chain flies and jams. That's bad enough for an adult, but a beginner? The bearings on the inside of the pedal shaft will be destroyed and fall out of the housing. The inside of the housing will be damaged by the bearing housing and loose ball bearings. To fix this you need to replace the entire frame. We contacted customer service who rightly asked for photos. We have decided that the hassle (replacing the frame) is not worth the cost of this bike that our son will sooner or later outgrow. We used an old bike bearing to assemble this one. Only a few hours have passed since then.
