I had a leak on one of the flares on my dual zone mini split. I used the flare nuts that came with the line kits instead of the heavy duty ones that came with the unit because I didn't want to reflare them. Well, it ended up leaking so badly that it didn't heat up or cool down. The service technician came and tightened the bell around the oil. Well it went like this for a while but 9 months later same problem. I decided to fix it myself, bleeding the system and flare the fittings with factory nuts. But for added reassurance, I used these bell seals. I checked for leaks and found none. Tested under pressure, vacuumed, charged, everything works now. I would recommend these seals just to avoid the headache of another leak. I figured $13 for the 2-1/4" and 2-3/8" gaskets was reasonable.
