Review on πŸ‘Ÿ Salomon Women's X Mission Running Shoes - Sargasso Bluestone in Athletic Style by Joe Lantz

So far, so good! - Athletic

Update: I wanted to update this review as I just used it on a different route over the weekend. There were quite a few creek crossings due to snowmelt, and more than a few times my feet dipped in water. Normally that would mean an awful rest of the day, BUT! To my surprise, they drained the water immediately and felt dry within 5 minutes. Coming back to the car, I'll admit that I actively stepped into the water and not onto the rocks to move, knowing that that would refresh me and I wouldn't have to worry about them getting wet. The trail was 8.2 miles RT, most of which was on rock, and they were still comfortable and supportive - and no blisters! You are definitely worth it! I bought these so I wouldn't ruin my regular athletic shoes when hiking and also to have a fallback option for trails that don't require hiking shoes. I was a little hesitant to buy the shoes without being able to try them on first, but they fit true to size and had plenty of room in the toe box (important as my feet are on the wider side). The first venture was to hike 8 miles with a climb of 3200 feet. The trail was easy - no roots, no stones to walk on, so they haven't been tested in that regard. Once they loosened up and collapsed at about the 1 1/2 mile mark they were very comfortable the rest of the way. The original plan was to run down the trail to see how they are, but a friend who joined us brought a weekend hike bag full of training weights and I didn't want to leave her to run one. My soles hurt at the end of the trail, but I think it was more because of the steep descent than the shoes themselves. For the price I think you can't beat them and I look forward to trying them out in real trail running.
