I have a PH of 50 years. I did alongside nursing, management, technical writing and teaching. More recently, I have given homeschooling to elderly patients and their caregivers. Foot care has always been a challenge due to the risk of skin damage in patients with conditions such as diabetes and poor circulation. In older people, toenails are thickened, making them difficult to trim and file. I have patients whose caregivers say that when it comes time to take care of their feet, their loved ones complain bitterly because it causes them discomfort and anxiety. I tried the emollient cream on my healthiest patient and found it surprisingly easy to trim and file. No pain for my patient, no struggle, no cuts, no worry about cuts. It was also found that the condition of her toenails returned to normal after the pedicure. However, I do not use Barielle for my patients who require orthopedic foot care. Although I use it for myself, I wish the fabric softener came with clearer instructions. (How thick to apply? How long to last? Warnings etc.)
