Not the best choice for my cat

This cat food was returned after searching for a grain free food. NOT grain free. Shortly after I started feeding it to my two 15 year old cats, but not immediately, one of them started vomiting. I didn't associate it with food because another cat, siblings from the same litter, had no problems other than being an idiot. But he's always been an idiot. After a visit to the vet, which included a blood test to check for diabetes, thyroid function and kidney function (all normal), the vet determined the cat had acid reflux and prescribed Raglan twice a day, 30 minutes apart before meals. By then the cat had lost 5 of his 11+ pounds and was down to 6.1 pounds. I was told he should see improvement within 10-14 days. After 14 days (still not attributing his symptoms to the food) he wasn't getting any better so I made an appointment to see the vet. He lost another pound and even lost up to 5 pounds. Two months ago it was a healthy 11 lb cat. In addition to his weight loss, he was now severely dehydrated. He stayed at the vet for a week. Three of those days were spent on intravenous rehydration and administration of some nutrients and anti-emetic medication. On the fourth day, they began feeding baby food with meat. After 24 hours with no problems with baby food, he was put on prescription dry cat food. At the end of his stay he never vomited. He's been home four days, still eating prescription foods, and guess how many times he's thrown up? Zero. I don't know if this food is unsafe for cats or if my cat is just overly sensitive to anything in it. Anyway, it poisoned my cat and I almost lost him.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
