It took a while to assemble as there were no instructions in the box. However, I'm skilled, so I figured it out after a while. They should be accompanied by a guide as it is easy to get lost. Once installed, they clamp into two handles so you absolutely cannot unfold them unless you pull them out of the handles. The top is slippery so be careful as things can slide down if you're not careful.
