We bought this cage purely as a transitional cage for the deer mice we raise. We put him in a little box until he opened his eyes at two weeks and then in this travel cage. At the moment this is perfect for him, but in 2-3 weeks we will put him in a much bigger cage. This cage should only be for travel or temporary. It's not big enough to keep an animal in it all the time. Now for the quality. It looks cheap and was difficult to assemble. The parts just didn't fit together. In addition, one of the plastic parts is torn. There are no instructions. So if you're having trouble with assembly, check out the video posted on Revain. If this wasn't a temporary fix for our mouse I would be returning it. This is a very nice cage so I was very disappointed with the quality.
