For what it's designed for, it works great. When it comes to pot lids, there's not much to say. The lid itself is high quality and closes very well (keeps out odors in the fridge). As it is silicone you should be able to place it hot on the pan but I would recommend that you let it cool down a bit before putting it on. Otherwise, put it in the fridge and the lid "falls" into the pan.
