Review on ๐Ÿ”ฉ Dremel Filament for Weighted Additive Manufacturing Products with Optimal Diameter by Tyler Owens

Don't leave it in the printer for more than a day!

Not sure what happened to the filament quality since I bought a Dremel 3D40 in 2016. At some point in the process, Dremel (or rather their filament supplier) dropped the ball. While I have nothing but good things to say about the 3D40 and the Dremel tech support staff, I have NOTHING good things to say about their filament at the moment. THIS IS COMPLETE GARBAGE! A brand new spool usually prints well and good, but you either have to use the whole spool at once or find time to 3D print every day. If the filament is not used in the printer for more than a few days, it will start to break in places. Too often it breaks mid-print. A coil has dried out/broken even though it was sealed. I've already pointed this out to Dremel tech support and I think they know about it, but nothing has been done to improve the quality of the filament. They suggested putting the desiccant bag inside the printer. I have a dozen desiccant packs and nothing has changed. I print in an air conditioned environment so I don't see what the problem could be. I took the liberty of printing a filament "adapter" and will be trying high-quality third-party filaments shortly. Who else has this problem? Let's hope Dremel changes its filament supplier soon as its reputation as a superior printer is at stake.

Pros
  • Manufactured and tested to ensure a smooth and stable build
Cons
  • Not sure
