quality control? - Tools and equipment

The die blocks on the pipe must be fully closed before the nut is screwed on. I couldn't even close them with a heavy c-clip on the original Ford 3/16 inch pipe. This threaded hole on the die blocks is not narrow enough to fit the nut. This works for Nicopp tubes. because it is much softer, but reduces the outside diameter of the tube by several thousand. Both hose types measure exactly 0.187 inches. Also, the flare screw was deformed, too small and loose, but the nut thread size was correct, so I made another 1/2"-20 deg 5 flare screw. Now it makes decent flares in Nicopp, but that's the only one The way this tool would work.On steel pipe is to drill out the clamp teeth on the nose end and hope it doesn't slip.I wasn't aware Snap-On makes a tool like this and would have paid extra for it.So back to use the good old genuine Snap-On Blue Point Flare tools that work.
