If you travel abroad, you already know that the local hospitality industry doesn't meet Americans' need for clean laundry. I've never seen a washer dryer on my visits to Europe and the best you can hope for is overpriced service at more upscale hotels. This forces you to wash your hands in the sink to keep your small items fresh, which means you need some sort of detergent. These little tide bags work well, produce decent suds and are great for washing underwear and socks, or even a shirt or two. The smell is a little strong for my taste, but that's the only downside. Definitely better than some of those laundry strips you see in on-the-go laundry commercials, in my opinion.
