This is an excellent thermometer that does not require calibration. I tested it for accuracy in boiling water and read 212°F. The interface is seamless and features an optional backlit LED display. The probe itself is about 4.5 inches. It comes with an external probe and cable (about 40 inches) so you can take the temperature while your food is in the oven. It differs from other thermometers I've used in that it's rechargeable and doesn't run on batteries, which I love. You can also set an alarm for a specific temperature. There is a magnet on the back of the probe so it can be hung on a refrigerator or other magnetic surface near the stove. As a bonus, the thermometer also comes with a kitchen timer (battery included).
