Of course the MM400 is not a Fluke. but how many of us really need a Fluke? The typical home player needs a meter that can reliably answer three questions: (a) is this battery dead?, (b) is this outlet active? and (c) does this switch work? The MM400 answers these questions and more, making this autoranging meter an excellent value. And let's face it, if you walk through the electronics department at the Big Orange Home Center, Klein Tools doesn't come cheap. There's a lot to be said for a reputation for quality. Advantages: Automatic range selection. Good leads. backlight. Includes K-type thermocouple with adapter. Built to withstand a 1 meter drop. Soft plastic/rubber case for durability. Compact size, perfect for my (hopefully normal sized) grip. Accuracy that can match or exceed the more expensive, old-school Craftsman models it replaces. And that nice feeling when you buy something with no regrets. Cons: I don't understand anything here. I want more. For the rest of us, the MM400 is all we really need.
