I previously used Freebuds 3, and I found them to be quite pleasant and not at all in-the-ear. Here, the situation is much better because they fit nicely in the ear, are smaller, and allow for simultaneous use of two devices. I was amazed by the bass, its richness, and suppleness in freebuds 3. I want more depth in Freebuds Pro, and I feel like there aren't enough low frequencies. Hopefully, this will be fixed programmatically in upcoming firmware updates. Firmware more conveniently implements noise reduction options, switching between them automatically based on ambient noise plus transparency mode. The pros have excellent passive noise isolation due to ear cushions, and there is simply no subway noise, so everything is perfectly audible even when not at full volume. Freebuds 3 was problematic to listen to in the subway, especially in old cars. Please be aware that depending on the noise reduction or transparency option you choose when chatting on the phone, the other person will hear you differently. Wonderful headphones.
