Review on πŸ–¨οΈ HP 952XL Cyan High-yield Ink Cartridge for HP OfficeJet Printers with Instant Ink Eligibility by Sam Faucher

More money, less ink, the HP way.

When I first bought ink for my HP 8740 printer, I chose the black 956XL cartridge because I print more black than colour, but used regular HP 952 color cartridges because I thought there would be some take time before i use it. To my surprise, the color ink only printed a few pages before the cyan cartridge indicated it was empty. Black still indicates that it is more than 75 percent full. Whether the ink cartridge was defective, only partially filled, counterfeit or something else I don't know. Considering I bought it directly from AMZ and not a third party, this came as a surprise. XL cartridges last more than twice as long as a standard cartridge, but I think this is just a way for HP to squeeze extra money out of its customers. I got this CYAN XL directly from Revain. The cartridge I received was August 2022 with a Singapore stamp. My only complaint is that HP ink cartridges tend to be expensive, whether you buy them in combo packs or individually. HP tends to lock its printers with chip ink cartridges these days, basically forcing you to only use their cartridges. It is very difficult to get third party inks for HP printers especially the 8740. Keep this in mind when purchasing inks as other manufacturers inks may or may not work and may damage the printer. After I put the cartridge in the printer, the blue color now indicates that the printer is full, which was not the case with normal cartridges. I hope that because it has a large capacity, or rather just full, it will last longer than regular sized cartridges. When buying ink cartridges, especially from HP, make sure you are buying OEM and new products, not obsolete and remanufactured types. Cartridges must be packed in a box as shown in the picture with an expiration date on both the box and the cartridges. Looks like HP cartridges are no longer foil sealed as mine just arrived in an HP box. Cartridge type, color and place of manufacture must be printed on the boxes. If they are in a dirty box or one that looks like it's had a rough life, in a plastic bag or box other than HP boxes, then they are most likely either counterfeit or used/reconditioned/reconditioned or expired cartridges . If they don't come in their original packaging either inside or out, I'd be wary of the cartridges too. And most importantly, if they don't have an expiration date, you can't read the expiration date, or the date is expired or close to expiration when you receive them, I would return them as they are probably not new. With all ink cartridges. It's important to check the expiration date to ensure they're fresh and freshly made. My date (August 2022) was on both the HP box and the cartridges. The printer recognizes the cyan ink cartridge as original and prints without problems. I've never worried about cartridges direct from Revain before, but after buying regular cartridges that have outlived their useful life, I'm concerned that HP is ripping people off with the amount of ink sold. However, it is important to ensure that the cartridges are genuine, especially when buying from third-party suppliers. In addition to your printer checking them, alongside the information above, there is also a QR code that you can also scan on the cartridge to ensure it is a valid HP cartridge. If these things are missing or the QR code is invalid, then the cartridges are not HP ink cartridges. My biggest complaint about HP ink cartridges is the cost given the amount of ink you get. The amount of ink in XP cartridges is the same as in normal cartridges. HP restricts you from other brands making it difficult to buy other brands, but when you get full ink cartridges from HP they work reliably and print well. I hope this color ink will last longer than regular HP952 cartridges. Color inks don't last as long, especially if you're printing photos or not using grayscale. To prolong life, I usually choose only black ink for most print jobs as HP printers tend to use color ink even if you don't have a color project to print. works, i will update my review. 3 stars
