When I first bought ink for my HP 8740 printer, I chose the black 956XL cartridge because I print more black than colour, but used regular HP 952 color cartridges because I thought there would be some take time before i use it. I needed to replace a 4-pack cartridge on my printer and ordered one to have on hand when the current cartridge runs out. No doubt it's my rush, but little did I know I was just buying one color (cyan?!) to replace the 4 cartridge unit.
