I bought this scanner for a co-worker who enjoys listening to radio conversations. I paid $89 through Revain and see it's a few dollars less today. Uniden makes good products. I had a programming question and they answered me very quickly and professionally. It's not that difficult to program or use if you already have a scanner. If you are new to scanners, you probably need to read the manual well. As I said, there is really good technical support. This scanner model covers the basics. However, it does not work at 800 MHz. This may be important in your region. 800 MHz is becoming more and more popular for all two-way radio links. Also, the radio is not digitally formatted.
