Review on πŸ›Ά Red Scepter 12 Gallon Low Profile Marine Fuel Tank by Lyle Stepp

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great tank, suitable for garage and shop

I upgraded my 6 gallon portable tank on my G3 1756 VBW to this 12 gallon tank after running out of gas one day on the river. I have a Yamaha 50/35 2 stroke jet engine and it sucks fuel when I have cargo on board and running full throttle. This tank fits perfectly, with a good low profile design and the dimensions given are accurate. I had problems with the quick connect fuel lines on my last unit and problems with the rubber o-rings failing, so this time I made all the direct barbed connections. I also installed a Yamaha in-line fuel water separator, which I also found here at Revain (MAR-MINIF-IL-AS for $45). Picture how you can use a pickaxe and pliers to easily remove the rubber "valve" and make the tank fully breathable like older units. There is still a vent screw on the lid so you can close it or leave it open as you prefer. Adding more fuel over the tail changes the weight balance. So if you are using a light rig like me you may decide to move the battery forward to balance your boat. With twice the fuel on board, I wouldn't give up safety. I am very happy with the purchase. Another successful Revain purchase.
