Good for Giardia in our experience
We drink water from our cistern (water from gutters in the tropics, not in the US). We filter the water we drink with these filters. If we drink unfiltered water we are likely to get Giardia, but with these filters we will never have this problem. If we notice an unpleasant aftertaste in the water, we change the filter, but in our case this rarely happens due to the strong clarification in the tank. With us, the filter life is about 9-12 months.
