I have an 88 F250 with a ZF5 transmission (5 speed) and a 460 (7.5L) V8. This is an amazing thing, I have always liked Royal Purple oil and have used several other products with good results. I decided to change my transmission fluid/ATF and wanted something that offered slightly better protection for a manual transmission, namely better protection for the "yellow metals" (like brass and copper) used in manual transmissions. I just wanted to replace my existing fluid with something better that I was NOT expecting to see a significant change in performance. My transmission now shifts MUCH smoother than before, it used to be a bit difficult to get into 2nd gear (you usually start in 2nd gear on a ZF5 when not paddling) especially when the transmission was very cold. This thing is as easy to rearrange now as I would like it to be when it was BRAND NEW! It took me about 50-100 miles to get this effect, but let me tell you, it's amazing (and totally unexpected)! If you have a Ford with a ZF5 or ZF6 this is the right choice for your transmission (yes, transfer case too!) and while it's a little pricey, it's worth every penny! The 6 liter pack was enough to make my transmission and transfer case, leaving about a third of a bottle (12 ounces).
