Very happy with this bottle

First off, one aspect of this product that made me write a review is the incredible temperature retention. I can fill this bottle with ice cubes and expect them to last a while which seems amazing. Here is my totally unscientific, poorly measured, extremely small list of data points. I put ice in it the first day, by noon I realized I would have to add water as the ice isn't melting fast enough to be drinkable. At the end of the day, most of the ice stayed in place. That was about half a glass each with two pours of water and no lid. Other times I used a cap and was still finding ice the next morning. It's possible that owners of other brands of vacuum bottles may have the same experience, as I'm just comparing this to my experiences with glass water bottles and single-layer metal water bottles. In any case, I am very satisfied. The bottle is sleek and shiny (oh, shiny) and the wide mouth makes it easy to clean and easy to throw ice cubes. I have yet to find out how dent resistant it is, but in my house it's only a matter of time. The lid is also made of steel with a silicone sealing ring. Some people might find the scratching of metal as they twist and turn uncomfortable, but that shouldn't surprise you if you're buying a steel bottle with a steel cap. The lid has a built-in metal hinge that seems sturdy, but I haven't tested it yet. The decorative bamboo top of the cap is not finished, but in the few times I've washed it it hasn't fallen apart as other reviews have reported. I was very gentle with the part that neither the food nor the mouth touched. In my house, too, it's only a matter of time. In summary, I found this to be a well designed water bottle that exceeded my expectations. If I lose this one, I'll buy another one entirely.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Not bad but...
