Recycled paper is their strength

EcoFirst Recycled Paper Hand Towels (24 Rolls) The best thing about paper towels is that they are made from 100% recycled paper towels. If paper towels are a priority for you, this product may be right for you. While I love the fact that this paper towel is recycled, I don't find it great as a paper towel. It reminds me of an ordinary paper towel from a dollar store. They currently cost $1.62 per roll. It's actually a significant price drop since I bought mine for about $2.84 a roll. I don't consider myself particularly picky when it comes to paper towels. I balance price with efficiency. I usually end up with something like Sparkle, so I don't even compare them to products like Bounty or Brawny. I felt like the EcoFirst was even outperformed by the Sparkle, which cost me just over a dollar a roll. The first thing I noticed even before opening the packaging is that they are loosely wrapped around the core. If you look at the end of the roll you will notice that there is a lot of air between the sheets and the ends are not smooth. The airspace makes the roll appear larger. They're also rougher than my current paper towels (can't remember which brand and outer packaging are no longer available). The surface of the kitchen paper does not feel "finished". Not sure if it's just the quality of the paper towel or because it's recycled. The individual sheets are also smaller than what I'm using now. Because of the quilted design, the entire surface is less quilted which means they are less absorbent. They are also thinner. If I put one on top of the package you can actually see the logo through the paper towel. All of this means I will end up using more of this product for work. I will need to use two towels for many jobs where I normally use one. This adds even more to the effective cost of an already expensive item. To me, green can only move you so far. I already use reusable paper towels (e.g. HandiWipes) to reduce my paper consumption with great success. Making a product from recycled paper is not the only way to be more sustainable. I will use them but I don't think I will get more. For the price of this product when I received it and even at the current price I was expecting a higher quality product. I'm disappointed in them. If the price were even lower I would give them an average rating as they would be an average product for this price range and more in line with my expectations.
