I wear the real 8.5. As this product didn't come in half sizes I decided on an 8 based on other comments. It was definitely too small. Sent it back and ordered one 9. This one has a perfect fit that matches the length and the sole was SO comfortable However as other reviewers have said the back of the ankle strap was very tight AND the top straps (albeit elastic) were too tight My feet are quite thin and it pushed my skin up and left some pretty good dents on my legs after I took them off and after just a few minutes I wanted to like them like that :(
