When I first used it my first thought was disappointment. It felt very strange in my hand and I found it difficult to crochet. It seemed bulky and unwieldy, but I decided to go ahead and give it a try. After all, they cost me dearly, and their ratings were high. After trying them well, I found that I was trying to put the pen in my hand the wrong way. As I allowed my hand and fingers to hold the hook more naturally, the hook just hit its sweet spot and it now feels like a natural extension of my hand. The shape of the grip looks like it should fit your hand and palm in a specific way, but it doesn't. My advice: use them for a while and let the pin snap into place on its own. I love these hooks! I finally have a set that can replace the many other sets I've bought over the years in search of the perfect hook. That's it! I will buy a set of smaller sizes and be done with that. I have found that my work gets in the way because the handles are much longer than the average set, but as I progress my work this problem is very easily eliminated. I would definitely recommend these hooks to anyone, whether in pain or not.
