I use this pump for hydroponics. I put it on a folded cloth to minimize noise as other reviews have said. After rearranging the grow room, I found that it wasn't the pump that was making the noise, but rather the containers that held the air stones, which were released by the vibration of the air bubbles and the stones. Containers have gone from a softer surface to a hard table surface and noise levels have tripled. I liked the pump itself, it's comfortable and quiet. The adjustable airflow is very convenient. We look forward to a really good hydroponic pepper harvest soon!
