Review on ๐Ÿ“ Acomdata Samba USB 2.0/Firewire 400 3.5-Inch SATA HDD Enclosure SMBXXXU2FE-BLK (Black) by Rebecca Waffles

Revainrating 4 out of 5

It works as intended

Received this today to purchase the Macally Hi-Speed eSATA/FireWire/USB 2.0 Storage Enclosure for a 3.5" SATA G -Replacing the S350SUAB2 hard drive (silver) was supposed to solve the problem with FireWire, but it didn't (see my review on this page). Although I drop the FW 800 with this case, unlike Macally, Acomdata at least boots from the FW 400. Not the prettiest or easiest case to install, but not that difficult either if you have ANY mechanical skills. Seems to work pretty cool, but we'll see how time goes by. Although there's a lot of plastic in there, it feels pretty solid and I wouldn't worry about mounting the drive. However, it is made entirely of plastic. If I drop it so hard that it becomes a problem, I'm probably causing direct damage to the hard drive. "Pillows" I do not know. So far I'm very happy with this purchase and will buy again.

Pros

Cons
