Useful and exactly as advertised - I wear them every time I shovel

First, they don't get in the way of slipping on ice. They also never say they won't let you slip on the ice. Rather, they increase traction on ice and you slip less. If you need something to keep you from sliding on ice, you need something with metal spikes, springs, or spikes to dig into the ice. However, this is exactly what is advertised and they are very useful. I had to clear my driveway this morning and it greatly improved my grip on the snow. I was surprised when I hit the icy patch as I went from near-perfect traction to some slip. But after re-reading the description, they never claimed to have perfect grip, just increased grip. And they do that very well. Instead of my leg going out from under me when I hit the ice, it just slipped about an inch or so. It's amazing in the snow. They offer fantastic traction and are much more flexible than traditional metal traction devices. They stayed on my foot very well when I was shoveling and pacing, and I was able to dig to throw big shovelfuls of snow off the road. Also, I kept them in the garage and the rubber stayed incredibly flexible even when the temperature was below freezing. However, there are some areas for improvement. Both of mine were marked with an L - not sure if it's for the left foot or something but it's confusing. Also, they're harder to put on than your name's spiked traction device. Because they rise so high above the toes, they are not easy to stretch and tear. Even with the added toe coverage, the toe box on these shoes slipped out of position a few times - never moved out of position if I lost traction or even noticed it immediately, but I looked down and they were half ripped off my foot. All this to say that they are great and will find many uses for driveway cleaning. They improve my traction when shoveling and accelerate since I don't have to worry about being on my back. They're not as good as my cleated traction devices, but they don't tear up the driveway either. I am very happy with them.
