I bought this mainly because of the VGA video adapter which works great on my Dell Inspiron laptop. It occupies 1 of my 2 USB 3.0 ports so I planned on connecting the 2 external drives I have via the ports on the hub and then I was able to disconnect all my external drives by removing 1 cable. Unfortunately, not all of my external drives work on the hub. I actually spent 30 minutes fixing all my drives and cases because one of them beeped and I thought it was going to fail. Turns out, plugged directly into a USB 3.0 port, it works fine. Getting through this center was a challenge. Another drive failed to connect through a hub, although it connected to my USB 2.0 port through a hub with no problems. Since I mostly use the VGA connection for this and have all my drives installed, I see no point in returning it. This could be an issue with drive enclosures that plug into a hub - mine are all different - but I'll leave that alone for now.
