I am building an ITX PC with only a 5.25" bay. both an optical drive and a memory card reader. This docking station, ultra-slim* CD drive, and 3.5-inch memory card reader were just what the doctor ordered. includes ALL the hardware you need to install a 3.5" hard drive, floppy drive (?!) or accessory in the lower bay, and an ultra-slim optical drive in the upper bay. The screws to install in a PC are a breeze and it requires a bit of force to fully tighten. The screw packs are conveniently labeled. It also includes a well-made adapter to connect a compact optical drive to a regular SATA power connector The assembly of the product was painless and a pleasure.> There are end caps that are molded in plastic. The 3.5" drive blank is molded into the plastic between the optical drive bays and the 3.5" drive bays and fits into a slot at the base of the optical drive bay. It is set back slightly from the face of the adapter. You can pull it out when you need it or leave it there when you don't need it. This does not affect the installation of parts. The optical drive blank is molded onto the extension on the back of the adapter. It is inserted from above and is flush at the front, with artificial "disk" embossing. You CAN remove it for display if your case has a window through which you can easily see the inside of the adapter. Both end caps have a matte finish to match the front of the adapter.*> The optical bay requires an ultra-thin 9.5mm drive. A "thick" 12.7 mm normal thin disc is not suitable. The 9.5mm disc was a little tight!
