I've been thinking about a 'portable printer' for a while after deciding that a small printer for printing photos from my phone is more convenient than buying an instant camera (like an Instax camera or a Fujifilm version etc .). I also looked for examples of printed images from other mobile printers like the Polaroid Zip and the Fujifilm Instax printer. I ruled out Fujifilm because they only print on credit card sized paper which then has a border making your actual image even smaller. In fact, I originally ordered a Polaroid Zip after noticing the print quality was better than Fujifilms, as well as the ability to print borderless. However, after 10 minutes I regretted it, canceled the order and went back to SELPHY on Amazon. Can I take it anywhere and print without a network connection? no But everything else that other printers offer, it can still do, and the print quality will be MUCH better. 1. If I want a "smaller" image, I can do that. I can even print out a picture with a square border, crop the top border, and there it is, a Polaroid-style print. I can print collages from multiple photos. I can print photos with frames to shrink them if I want. I can print borderless on 4x6 paper. This printer does all of this, and for what? FEWER. Much less so than the "competitors" which are more instantaneous but don't produce great prints. And the printing cost is much lower. Especially if you are printing multiple images on one sheet. It blows my mind how much cheaper it was and besides everything I mentioned, it was a big reason I canceled my previous Polaroid Zip order and chose SELPHY. My only gripe is something many have mentioned, the fact that there is "bleeding" beyond the perforated edges. I guess I don't really understand why these edges are there. Not only do they cut off a significant portion (3-5 mm) of the printed image, they also leave a not-so-clean edge. But it's not that big of a deal to give it a lower score since I'll probably be typing with margins anyway. Be warned, however, that Canon's print app is terribly clunky. I will look for alternative applications to print with this Wi-Fi enabled printer.
