Great little, reliable and simple water heater. If the lid wasn't an optional accessory, it would be perfect. I installed it outside of a self contained solar powered cabin in Maine to heat water in the summer. In winter hot water comes from an indirect tank from a massive wood fired stone heater. I built a wooden frame that mounted on the outside wall under the eaves and stuffed mineral wool insulation around the factory rigid foam insulation - and with the help of an igniter the tank keeps warm all night. It provides more than enough hot water for a satisfying shower. Much better than an on-demand heater that is unreliable, finicky, intermittent and problematic.
