There are many small dealers that sell these reels which are generic copies. They come in motorcraft bags and are difficult to tell apart. The only reliable way I've found is to look at the FoMoCo logo on the mounting ear. It should be clean and crispy. The fakes I received were dirty like they were part of a mold while the real ones are very clean (I think they are laser cut). Motorcraft parts also usually have part marks as part of their quality control (I had the marks on the electrical connector). There are other indicators on the bag as well, but I think the latest fake coils are better for duplicating bags, so I'd go for parts identification. If you don't care for the Chinese copies, save $25 each and buy the regular ones at $4 each. I would go to more reputable suppliers for this part, but that is no guarantee of getting a genuine part.
