I'm a beginner bread machine to start with and I use my mother-in-law's Kitchenaid K45SS to knead the dough. She only had a spatula and whisk attachment, and I thought I could do without those two. When I found this dough hook here at Revain for HALF the retail price I had to buy it just to see what all the fuss was about. This dough hook is a game changer. He does all the work for you. He scoops the dry mixture off the sides of the bowl and kneads it with the wet dough in the center. When I used the paddle attachment for this, the dough slid onto the attachment and I had to take it off and start over several times during the kneading process. I don't have to do that with the dough hook. My only advice is that you know what model number is listed on your Kitchenaid mixer! There are several variations of this test hook and if you get it wrong it won't work. Also, make sure you're the right size for your bowl. My bowl is five liters. Some blenders come with a 3 liter bowl.
