The cable is quite soft and flexible, even 10AWG since it's stranded copper instead of a single solid wire. There are protective caps on both ends to protect the exposed connector, nice. this cable but it refers to the SAE cable standard, you will see there that on both ends male and female are connected with different wires because remember this is for the EXTENSION! So if you're using it as an extension case it shouldn't be a problem, but if you're cutting it in half you need to be extra careful about what color wire goes into the plug or socket or you'll end up with an expensive reverse polarity wire!
