These fasteners are very strong. Our hood no longer flaps when driving on the freeway. As other reviewers have pointed out, the bottom nut is hard to get to. I have long thin fingers and a 1/4" ratchet. I changed them in about an hour and took my time. I used factory locknuts on the hood as the new fastener did not come with washers and when tightened it started to biting into the paint.wings.I removed a piece of rubber from the factory loop,cut it off and glued it to the fender.
